If it wasn't already a school holiday, this would make for a great snow day. Some winters I regret not buying a truck and hooking a snow plow up to it. Not even to get around easier or to make money, just because I think it would be fun to plow my way through a snow covered street and show that snow who's boss. I'll have to just stick with snowblowing the driveway and walkway once the snow lets up enough to make a dent in it, I suppose. Mutt keeps trying to eat the snow as if it were a lake of ice cubes and keeps coming up with a snowcrackbeard. It's kind of ridiculous.

The tally of injuries/deaths related to Black Friday that I have come across online so far:

1 Shooting in North Carolina
1 Shooting in South Carolina
2 Shootings in CA (I think, but the reports are starting to blend together)
1 Fight/Rumble/Brawl/Riot in Upstate New York
1 Fight in Kissimmee, Florida over something jewelry related
1 Dead guy, supposedly not killed by foul play, floating in a shopping center fountain in Studio City, CA
15 - 20 people injured by Pepper Spray Xbox Lady, also in CA.

Looks like California's gotten the worst of it. Did I miss anything?

Glad the weather is pretty awesome for the last weekend of freedom before school, considering it could have been nothing but rain. Too bad the Mutt decided to raid the trashcan and hide nasty garbage surprises all around the house. Still have no idea what he was looking for in there.

I can't believe summer is pretty much over already. By summer I mean pre-school summer. Summer technically has, what, like another month before it's 'officially' over? Yeah. Labor Day is the saddest of all the holidays. Just sayin'

Part of me is looking forward to school starting again as it gives me more to fill up my to-do list, but the other part of me is not looking forward to it...because damn I love sleeping in. Ah well. Time to start waking up earlier to get myself back into regular schedule. Need to decide what to do with the last remaining bits of freedom before the teaching game starts again.

Netflix has a lot of Zombie movies on it. I was surprised that it had its own little sub-category under the 'horror' section, but I guess it's got a big enough collection of movies for its own sub-category like Vampires and Werewolves get. So when I couldn't sleep the other night, I watched The Man from Planet X. High Class. They just don't make movies like that anymore.

Let me know whenever your cousin decides on a wedding date and I'll get the tickets for our trip so we can get a date range squared away and on the calendar? Thoughts? [/end private]

I am in the mood for a marathon of horrible apocalyptic movies. Lord knows there are an abundance to choose from. I think I'm gonna scour for the worst of the worst. This will need to be an epic marathon, once a list is compiled. Guess I need to go start researching. Gonna need a lot of milk duds and orange soda for this endeavor, though I must admit I do have a good background base to start with from my past viewing experiences.

So let's see. Winter break - awesome, lengthy, chilly, and recreational. I fully approve of winter break. It's a shame every job doesn't come with one. You're missing out.

Other thoughts of random interest. I'm not sure what TNT/TBS/ETC see in The Wizard of Oz that I don't, but I'm not sure how it equates to a holiday movie. Was it released around the holidays originally? More importantly, why have I gotten stuck on this? Let's blame TNT for playing it right now.

And I think my dog just ate a gym sock and I'm not even sure where he got it from. That would be my cue to sign off.

If I ever have kids and there is a reason for them to need a cell phone for some crazy reason before they've left grade six, they're getting one of those Jitter-bug old people phones that do nothing but call people. No texting. Absolutely no camera phones. One 5th grader put his hand down a girl's shirt and took a picture then texted it to all of his friends, who of course sent it around further. 5th grade! What is wrong with kids today? I mean, really.

I have just been volunteered (looking at you, Bobcat) to possibly adopt a dog. It's a good thing I like animals.

What shall I do with all this freedom? I simply don't know. The beginning of summer break is the hardest. There's so much freedom one doesn't know where to start. It's a bit like leaving a room messy to long and then trying to figure out what to pick up and put away first.

Whatever I decide, I think it'll involve going outside.
